Family-Run Residential Care
We are a family-run residential home rooted in compassion, dignity and connection. Haulfryn provides enhanced dementia care and support to people aged 60 and over, specialising in dementia, Parkinson’s and a range of mental health conditions. Our approach is person-centred, strengths-based and grounded in the belief that every person deserves to live with purpose, comfort and belonging. We support people through every stage of their journey — from early diagnosis through to palliative and end-of-life care — with warmth, skill and respect.

Haulfryn has been owned by Mr and Mrs Regan since 2001. Their connection to the home began long before ownership, with Mrs Regan joining Haulfryn in 1990 and growing into the role of Registered Manager. Their commitment to continuity, family values and high-quality care remains the foundation on which the home is built.

Today, Haulfryn is jointly led by Mrs Clare Roberts, Managing Director and Responsible Individual, and Miss Abbie Edwards, Registered Manager. Clare — daughter of Mr and Mrs Regan — has worked at Haulfryn since 2013 and brings over 12 years of experience in dementia care, alongside a passion for compassionate leadership, workforce well-being and person-centred practice. Abbie, who joined Haulfryn in 2016, brings extensive expertise in dementia care and leads the day-to-day running of the home with warmth, confidence and skill. As a fluent Welsh speaker, she supports the team to ensure the Welsh language is actively offered and meaningfully embedded in daily life.

Together, Clare and Abbie lead Haulfryn with shared values, shared purpose and a deep commitment to ensuring every person, and every member of the team, feels seen, heard and supported. Their partnership reflects the culture of Haulfryn — collaborative, nurturing and rooted in family.

Haulfryn Care is located in the peaceful village of Cymau — a warm, friendly community situated between Wrexham, Mold and Chester. The home enjoys beautiful elevated views across open countryside, along with a well-loved garden and patio area. In the warmer months, the outdoor spaces are thoughtfully arranged to encourage people to relax, enjoy the fresh air and connect with the surrounding nature.

We deliver person-centred care that adapts to every stage of the journey, from early onset to end-of-life. Emotional understanding and safety are central to everything we do. At Haulfryn Care Ltd, respite care is also available, offering short-term support for families needing rest or recovery time.
